In june 2025 Mallorca will host the Art Week University Art Biennial, and will remain open to visitors throughout the summer.

Celebrating the next generation of young artists, this international exhibition will showcase works by students and researchers in the field of the Arts.

16 Universities, each one with 10 students and 1 Professors, have been selected to participate in this first edition of the University Biennial.

Each academic institution will present a site-specific exhibition showcasing their work. Throughout the year, an Artistic Direction Committee will continuously oversee and assess the quality of the exhibitions’ final pieces. At the conclusion of the process, an International Jury will evaluate the presentations and award the best participation.

We are pleased to announce that for this first edition, Ian Monroe (New York, 1972) will be the curator. Monroe, an artist and curator, is known for his ability to navigate between contemporary art, design, and culture with an inquisitive approach that challenges traditional boundaries.

His curatorial work is deeply rooted in an exploration of themes such as technology, human interaction, and the evolving relationship between art and the digital landscape. Monroe’s ability to foster interdisciplinary collaborations and his keen eye for emerging talent make him an ideal choice to lead this inaugural edition, setting the tone for an exciting and innovative journey ahead.
